sabotage  [‘sæbətɑ:ʒ] v.& n.

1.  the act of doing deliberate damage to equipment, transport, machines, etc. to prevent an enemy from using them, or to protest about something.
eg. Tina’s behavior is totally an act of industrial sabotage.
Tina的行为完全是一种产业蓄意破坏行为。

2. the act of deliberately spoiling something in order to prevent it from being successful.
eg.His ex-girlfriend’s sabotage really put back his plan badly.
他前女友的暗中破坏严重阻挠了他计划的顺利进行。

sabotage的意思有两个,一是蓄意破坏,阴谋摧毁(机器、铁路、桥梁);二是阻挠,妨碍,暗中破坏(计划的实施或会议的进行)。它既可以做动词,也可以作名词。
