 If you say that someone is fastidious, you mean that they pay great attention to detail because they like everything to be very neat, accurate, and in good order.
eg. Emily is quite fastidious about her appearance.

2. If you say that someone is fastidious, you mean that they are concerned about keeping clean to an extent that many people consider to be excessive.
eg. She was very fastidious about personal hygiene.
她对个人卫生有洁癖。
fastidious有两个意思,一个是讲究的;一丝不苟的;注重细节的,另一个意思就是过分讲究整洁的;有洁癖的。类似的词还有meticulous。
